Absolute acceptance means to look at what is, as clearly as you can, and acknowledge the reality of it.
One way to do this is to ask GARDEN/notes/What’s the situation and what can I do about it?.
Assess the situation as it is, being as honest as you can, not trying to pad the sharp edges or avoid the reality of what is unfolding. Along the way, as big feelings or fears rise up in response to that honesty, allow them, note them, but try not to dwell in them.
Another way to practice absolute acceptance is to trust what people do, because that’s how they tell you who they are. It may not be who you want them to be.
The goal of absolute acceptance is to avoid wasting energy on denial.
I need my energy to deal with what is real. The more energy I spend avoiding the knowledge of what is real, the less I have left to deal with it swiftly and decisively and positively.
This is one of my GARDEN/notes/Aspirational rules for life.
