There will always be more opportunity than capability.
Since I am, in terms of time, energy, capability, etc., a very finite creature (like it or not), I can only meet a finite number of demands. My resources dwindle fast.
This means that I must choose consciously and intelligently where my resources go. If I don’t, everything defaults to the The law of urgency: the loudest things get the most attention, whether they deserve it or not.
It’s a struggle, this limitation and my awareness of it. I just can’t solve all the problems, help all the people, do all the things I want to in one limited lifetime.
However, if I learn how to filter and choose wisely and trust my own choices, I can focus on what’s meaningful to me, spent time with the people who matter to me, grow and help and enjoy in ways that are best for me.
