We keep coming back to this point: don’t be seduced by the obvious, the childhood dream, the hobby. Get good at what you do now and what you are best at will be revealed and you can begin to follow that path.
Mastery can be gained in any task and with that mastery comes enjoyment. Thus simply work at becoming good at what you have to do as this may well reveal what you want to do. Notice how we have it the wrong way around so often, i.e. wanting to do something at which we have no prowess. There will be one or two who simply know in their deepest soul that they have to be a ballet star, but for most of us: get good, create mastery and enjoy doing what you are best at.
Nowhere is this more true than with hand and head: we now tend to spend more and more of our time in our head. And to sometimes escape from it we get out of our head in inappropriate ways such as alcohol overload; a healthier route is to use our hands by making bread or learning to paint or doing more gardening. It can seem odd initially; you might not have dabbled with ‘art’ or clay or gardening or real cooking or knitting since you were a child; but persevere.
